The Visa Office of the Consulate General of The People’s Republic of China in Christchurch will reopen on Feburary 1st 2023. The visa and authentication application procedures are as follows :
1. Office Hours:
Monday to Friday (except holidays): 09:00-12:00
2. Visa
Visa applicants need to log in to the website “China Online Visa Application (COVA) ”(https://consular.mfa.gov.cn/VISA/) to fill in the COVA forms and make appointments for on-site submission at the Visa office through the same website(COVA).
3. Authentication (Chinese Consular Legalisation)
Authentication applicants can refer to the website “Requirement for Chinese Consular Legalisation of Document” to prepare required documents, and submit by themselves or by agents to the office. Authentication mailing applications are also acceptable.
4. Collection & Payment
For visa and authentication, applicants can choose to make your payment at the consular office or online banking transfer.
1) You will be given a pickup slip when submitting your application in person at the visa office. You must bring the pickup slip for passport collection and make the payment for your visa application.
2) If applicants request your passport to be returned by post or courier service after submitted your application to the visa office in person, we will send you an email with payment details and return your passport using the courier bag you provided.
5. Public Prevention Notice
To strengthen health and safety prevention under epidemic , those who enter the Visa Office are required to wear masks and follow the instructions of the office staff.
