Consul General Madam He Ying, together with Invercargill Mayor Tom Campbell, attended a partnership event between Hubei University of Education (HUE) and the Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) on July 1, and witnessed the signing of a new cooperation agreement.

In her remarks, Madam He noted that the 16-year partnership has produced many outstanding graduates and energized both institutions. She encouraged both sides to seize opportunities to deepen their collaboration and contribute further to China–New Zealand educational and people-to-people exchanges. The Consulate General will continue to provide support.

The cooperation, which began in 2010, initially offered joint programmes in Hospitality Management and Computer Science. The new agreement adds a regular student exchange programme and an overseas internship and employment base.
