The China-New Zealand Economic & Trade Policy and Industrial Cooperation Dialogue was successfully held in Christchurch on July 9, drawing over 40 representatives from Chinese-funded and overseas Chinese enterprises.

Consul General He Ying stated that the China-New Zealand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has continued to deepen and deliver tangible outcomes. As a key growth engine for practical bilateral cooperation, the South Island is home to numerous Chinese-funded and overseas Chinese enterprises with multiple high-quality economic and trade cooperation projects launched here. She encouraged enterprises to seize opportunities for innovative development, cultivate markets of both countries, and make greater contributions to deepening China-New Zealand economic and trade exchanges and fostering people-to-people friendship.

Minister Counsellor Zhang Xinyu, Councillor Lu Nan, and Professor Cui Fan from the University of International Business and Economics delivered presentations and interpretations respectively covering China’s economic landscape, bright prospects of bilateral trade, New Zealand’s budget bill, and China’s regulations on outbound investment. The event also featured experience-sharing sessions on corporate risk management, New Zealand market trends and the industrial application of AI digitalization. Rich and substantial in content, the sessions were highly rewarding to all participants.
