The New Zealand Pacific Rim Outstanding Artists International Exhibition kicked off at the Arts Centre in Christchurch on 19 July. Consul General He Ying, Candy Zhang, Engagement Specialist of the Ministry for Ethnic Communities, Jamie Hanton, Community Arts Advisor, and Lu Yi, Chair of the Everyone Artist Foundation, attended the opening ceremony of the core section of the festival—the International Exhibition of the New Zealand Pacific Rim Distinguish Artists.

In her address, Consul General He Ying stated that this year’s arts festival fully showcases the diverse charm of Asian cultures and facilitates exchanges, mutual learning and harmonious coexistence among all ethnic communities in Christchurch. The painting and calligraphy exhibition features fine works by artists from China and across Asia, embodying the unique appeal of Oriental aesthetics. She expressed confidence that cultural events of this kind will continuously promote integration of local diverse cultures and deepen mutual understanding and friendly bonds between the Chinese and New Zealand peoples.

Jointly hosted by the Everyone Artist Foundation, the New Zealand Chinese Literature and Art Association, and the Christchurch Arts Centre, the exhibition displays more than 60 exquisite works created by over 40 artists from 11 countries and regions across Asia.
