On 4 October, Mr Sha Long, Director of the Consular Office, and Mr Shen Jian, Education Consul of the Chinese Consulate General in Christchurch, travelled to Dunedin to hold a study safety briefing, which was attended by more than 100 Chinese students.
Drawing on the recent surge in telecom fraud cases, Director Sha Long analysed in depth the common tactics adopted by fraudsters to create targeted traps and carry out layered inducement. He reminded students to continuously raise their awareness of security precautions and effectively strengthen their ability to identify and guard against fraud.
Consul Shen Jian conveyed the motherland's care for overseas students. He encouraged the students to cherish their overseas study opportunities, study diligently and forge ahead, demonstrate the fine demeanour of Chinese youth in the new era through concrete actions, tell China's stories well and pass on positive youthful energy.
